«Personality and Behavior»

Цель урока:Развитие речевых умений говорения по теме “Personality and Behaviour

Задачи урока:

• Повторить и закрепить лексику, характеризующую личность

• Научиться использовать лексику в разговорной и письменной речи

• Повторить и закрепить речевые клише из раздела «SocialEnglish»

• Работать с таблицей и аргументировать свою точку зрения

• Развить социальные навыки учащихся

Ходурока:

Учитель:Goodmorning.Sit down, please! Let’s begin our lesson. Look at the blackboard, please! You can see the theme of our today’s lesson – it’s “Personality and Behaviour”. Today we’ll revise the words, characterizingpersonality, we’ll see a computer presentation on the topic,we’ll also work out some personality adjectives and finally, we’ll play an “ Opinion game”. Are you ready to start?

Ученики:Yes, we are.

Учитель:So, look at the blackboard and let’s revise the vocabulary. Repeatafterme, please. (Приложение№1)

Ученики вместе с учителем проговаривают слова.

Учитель:OK. Now look at the blackboard and make sure you know all these words.

Ученик: Excuse me, what’s the English for “arrogant?”

Учитель: Can anyone explain in English what the word “ arrogant” means?(ученики дают толкование слова. При необходимости учитель помогает)

Учитель: Now let’s look at the smart board. You will see the bright pictures and definitions of personality adjectives. I want you to read aloud those descriptions and guess the right word.(ученики по очереди читают вслух толкования и угадывают слова из презентации)

Учитель: Start your sentence with the words – This person… (cлайд№1)

Ученик: This person always looks on the bright side of life.

Учитель And what kind of person do you think it is?

Ученик: Ithink, optimistic.

Учитель:Absolutelyright.Nowit’syourturntoread.(ученики поочередно читают описания и угадывают слова: всего 29 слайдов)

Учитель:Now after we have revised the vocabulary, let’s get down to Task№2.(Приложение №2) I’ll give you out the cards with empty boxes for personality adjectives. You are supposed to arrange them into two columns for positive and negative ones .Remember that some of those adjectives might fit in both columns.(через 3 минуты учитель спрашивает)

Учитель: Now I want you to read out first positive, then negative adjectives. If you have arranged some of them in both columns, try to justify your choice.(учитель поочередно спрашивает учеников)

Ученик: I have the word” shy” both in positive and negative columns

Учитель: Can you explain your choice?

Ученик: A shy person is not boastful and it is good but a shy person has problems socializing with others and it’s bad.(ученики по очереди читают слова в таблице и при необходимости комментируют).

Учитель: Well done. Now we have one more task to do.You have a small exercise, where you should fill in the adjectives.Write only the right words. Don’ t write sentences.(Приложение№3)(ученики выполняют упражнение самостоятельно и сдают учителю. Учитель проверит карточки к следующему уроку)

Учитель: Now the last task for you. Look at the blackboard. On the blackboard you can see the box with Social English.(Приложение №4) We are going to revise it as it is connected with today’s game. The box is divided into two columns. One column shows how to express opinions or good wishes, another column teaches how to agree or disagree with those opinions.(ученики знакомятся с образцами из таблицы и вспоминают речевые клише)

Учитель:Now that you have revised the vocabulary, we’ll get down to the final part of our lesson “Opinion game”. The rules of the game are the following:

One pupil from the class leaves the classroom for2-3 minutes. While this person is out, the rest of you write small messages “opinions” about him/her. Now look at the smart board.(компьютерная презентация- слайд №30) You can see the example of the message. –Read aloud, please.(учитель обращается к ученикам с просьбой прочитать образец записки)

I’ll give you out small sheets of paper and you will write your anonymous messages. Don’t sign them but remember that you can write only nice, kind or funny things to your friends. After you write your messages, I will collect them and will read aloud.

Учитель: Does anyone want to hear his classmates opinions about himself/herself ? Put up your arm!

Ученик: I do.

Учитель: Good. Here is the card with Social English for you. When you hear the” opinion”, you must first guess who the author is and then you react using the expressions from the right column. Now stay outside until we call you.(ученики пишут мнения. Через 2-3 мин. учитель собирает записки учащихся и зовет ученика за дверью)

Учитель:Now I will read the opinions and you guess the author. You agree or disagree with his opinion. Are you ready?

Ученик: Yes, I am.

Учитель: Well, here it goes.(учитель читает тексты и по ходу чтения поправляет некорректные фразы)

You are reliable and honest. You never let your classmates down.Besides, you are talented but I wish you were not so shy. Guess who I am.

Ученик: On the whole, I agree with this opinion but I am not shy, I am modest.

Учитель: Who do you think is the author?

Ученик: I think it ’s Tanya.(дальше учитель читает остальные сообщения)

Учитель:((после того как прочитали все мнения)

Thank you Slava, you may sit down and if you want you may take all your messages with you.

Ученик: Yes, please if you don’t mind.

Учитель: The lesson is over. Thank you. You have been enthusiastic about the game. And your homework for the next lesson is to write a descriptive composition describing someone you admire( or your best friend)120-180 words.
