Конспект урока английского языка для 9 класса по теме «Here is the News»

Тема: Here's the News.

Цели: 1) Систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся по теме "Here's the News".

2. Развивать элементы сравнения, анализа на примере печатных изданий, публикуемых в Британии и России;

3. Воспитывать уважение к мнению других людей, способствовать выработке собственного мнения.

Тип урока: урок-обобщение.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент. Приветствие.

2. Сообщение учащимся задач урока.

20. The subject- matter of our today's lesson is press. We are going to have a talk about newspapers and magazines which are published in Britain and in Russia. At out lesson we'll make a comparison between the British and Russian press.

A lot of well- educated people consider that information is the most important part of their life. Many of them don't imagine themselves without newspapers and magazines.

You know that press is subdivided into newspapers, magazines and other publications such as letters, articles and so on.

3. Учебный разговор с учащимися:

20. And the first question to you is:

1. What is a newspaper? Give a definition of this part of press.

(учащиеся высказывают свои мнения в режиме P1, P2, P3.)

(примерный ответ: a newspaper is a publication usually issued on a daily or weekly basis, the main function of which to report the news. Newspapers also provide commentary on the news, advocate various public policies, furnish special information and advice to readers, and sometimes include features such as comic strips, cartoons and serialized books.)

2. And what is a magazine? (определение)

3. Why do people buy and subscribe to newspapers and magazines?

(обмен мнениями).

P1: People buy newspapers and magazines because they want to know what happens in the country and abroad.

P2: They also want to read about political, financial and economic situation in the country and to get information about business and other serious matters.

P3: People are interested in the information about what's on TV and want to read TV and radio shedules and also about theatre and cinema performances.

P4: Also people read newspapers in order to learn the latest news, sport reports or just to read something amusing and funny for example, to learn horoscopes on the following week or month, to solve crosswords.

P5: People want to read about different sensational news and extraordinary events.

P6: To my mind, people prefer reading and subscribing to newspapers in order to have a rest after a long working day.

P7: If people are unemployed they can read the information about work and find a suitable job.

P8: Reading newspapers people learn about the latest scandal or gossip of different famous personalities and about their private life. So the purpose of such reading is to entertain oneself.

P9: Also people are keen on getting information about cultural events.

P10: Some people are very sensitive to weather so they want to learn about weather forecast. Etc.

20. So we can enumerate the reasons of reading newspapers more and more. And I think that all you are agree that our life would be boring and not interesting without press.

4. Сообщение о британской прессе.

20. And now lets focus our attention on the British press.

Today ..... will be our main expert on this matter. But before he (she) starts lets read the questions which you should discuss after the his (her) narrative.

Card N1.(один ученик читает вопросы, написанные на карточках).

(ученик- докладчик рассказывает у доски о британских газетах, остальные учащиеся аудируют его сообщение).

V. Работа в парах.

(обсуждая вопрос N5, учащиеся обмениваются мнениями и объясняют разницу между популярной прессой и серьезными газетами).

20. Unfortunately in our small town we don't have an opportunity to buy a newspaper which is published in Great Britain. Another problem is that such newspapers are rather expensive. But I have one issue of the real British newspaper which is called "Evening Gazette". I'm going to give you a few pages of the newspaper and you will look them through and then say if it is "a quality" paper or a "tabloid".

(учащиеся получают несколько страниц газеты "Evening Gazette", просматривают их и высказывают предположения о характере газеты).

7. Разговор о британских журналах.

20. There are a lot of magazines in Britain too. One can choose this or that magazine according to his interests - about sports, cookery, farming and religion, computers and cinema and so on.

What British magazines do you know?

P1: "Exchange and Mart", "Reader's Digest", "Radio Times", "National Geographic", "TV Times", "What Car?" , "The Economist", "New Statesman and Society", "The Spectator", "The Private Eye", etc.

P2: Women can choose between women's magazines, for example, "Woman's Weekly", "Woman's Own", "Woman", "Woman's Realm" and others.

P3: Teenagers have their own favourite magazines too such as "Jackie", "Mizz", "Shout", "Just 17", "Big", where they can read the material according to their age : love stories in photographs, articles about school, problems with parents, about pop music, fashion and beauty. There is a lot of confidential chatter and advice on various areas of life.

20. What are the equivalent magazines for teenagers in Russia?

P: "Cool", "Cool Girl", "Ровесник", and for women "Отдохни", "Вот так" and so on.

8. Беседа с учащимися о газетах, публикуемых в России.

20. And now let's speak about Russian newspapers. What proves that Russians are a reading nation?

(один учащийся рассказывает о прессе в России - монологическое высказывание)

9. Проверка домашнего задания.

20. Your home task was to bring your favourite newspaper into the class and tell your classmates why it attracts you).

(монологические высказывания учащихся об их любимых газетах).

10. Тестирование учащихся.

(уч-ся получают раздаточный материал Test yourself, рассаживаются по одному и проверяют свои знания)

(затем обмениваются тетрадями и, после предложенных учителем правильных ответов теста, проверяют работы друг друга).

11. Подведение итогов урока.

20. So as you see at our lesson we were convinced that information is a very important part of the people's life. I advice you to read more newspapers and magazines if you want to be well- educated, well informed and clever modern people.
