ANIMAL WORLD

tigers

Tigers come from Asia. They are red and black. Tigers can run very fast, swim very well and jump five metres. They can climb the trees but can’t fly. Baby tigers can’t see. Tigers are very strong and they eat other animals.

penguins. Penguins live in Antarctica. Penguins are birds but they can’t fly. They can swim very well in cold water. They eat fish and drink sea water. Penguins can live for 25 years. A very big penguin is a king penguin. It is 120 cm tall.

kangaroos Kangaroos live in Australia. Kangaroos can’t walk and run, but they can jump very fast – 30 km per hour and 9 metres long.

Baby kangaroos are very small – only 3 centimetres long. They can see when they are 9 weeks old and they can jump when they are 8 months old.

Toucans Toucans are birds. They are from hot countries. They live in South America. A toucan nest is in the tree. A toucan can fly very well.

Polar bears Brown bears

They live in cold Antarctica. Polar bears aren’t very big but adult bears are very strong. They can swim well and run very fast. They eat fish and drink sea water.

They live in Europe and Asia. Bears can run, jump, swim but can’t fly. They can climb trees very well. Bears usually have 1, 2 or 3 baby bears.

Panda Bears Panda bears live in China. They are big : 130 kilos. They are white and black. Panda can climb the trees. They eat bamboo.

Koala bears Koala bears live in the trees. They are from Australia. Koala is small: 50 cm tall. They climb trees well. They eat eucaliptus

Elephants Elephants come from hot countries : Asia and Africa. They are very big: 2,7 metres tall and 3 or 5 tons. Elephans can swim very well. They can walk 2-6 klm per hour and run very fast: 35 - 40 klm per hour. Elephants sleep when they stand.

zebras Zebras come from Africa. They are white and black. Zebras can walk and run. They can swim very well. They can walk and run. Zebras eat plants. They are 200 – 240 cm long. Zebras live in big families.

flamingos

Flamingos come from many countries. They are pink in colour. They have long legs. They live near salt water. Flamingos eat fish and they can fly. Their nest is near water. It is on the ground. Female flamingos sit on two eggs.
