Образовательная цель: повторение устной темы “Москва” и всей пройденной лексики по данной теме;
Развивающая цель: развивать умения и навыки устной монологической и диалогической речи, тренировать в употреблении пройденных лексических единиц по теме, тренировать в письме, аудировании, в ответах на вопросы;
Воспитательная цель: воспитывать любовь к Родине, к родному краю.
Оборудование: плакат о Москве, карта России, книги о Москве, программа пресс-конференции, тест, диск с записью гимна России, медиапроектор, экран.

Dear friends! It has become an important tradition to meet at the Congress every year. We can learn a lot about the countries we are from, about traditions of our countries. Today we shall speak about Russia and its capital. It is my honour and duty to declare our press-conference open. I think we should create a friendly atmosphere. Let's begin!
Reporters:

Russia is my country. It is the biggest country in the world. Russia is situated on the two continents: Europe and Asia. The Ural mountains form a natural border between the continents. Russia is a very rich country. There are many mountains, rivers, lakes and forests in my country, some of them are very beautiful. (слайды 1, 2)

The capital of Russia is Moscow. It is a big ancient city. It is one of the biggest and the most beautiful cities in the world. Across Moscow flows the Moskva-river. Moscow was founded in 1147 by the Prince Yuri Dolgoruky. Our capital has a very ancient and interesting history. More than once it has been ruined and restored. Now it is a huge European city. Red Square is the heart of our capital. It is the oldest and the most beautiful square in the city. People from all parts of the world come here. They see the Kremlin with its famous monuments and museums. On the territory of the Kremlin you can see old Cathedrals, the Bell Tower of Ivan the Great, the Palace of Congresses, the Tzar-Cannon, the Tzar-Bell. Red Square is famous for St.Basil's Cathedral and the monument to Minin and Pozharsky. This monument was built in 1818 in memory of the liberation of the Russian land from foreign invaders. (слайд 5)

Moscow is the cultural centre of Russia. There are more than 80 museums in Moscow. The largest museums are the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the State Tretyakov Gallery. The most famous opera and ballet theatre in Moscow is the Bolshoi Theatre. It was opened in 1825. It stages classical and modern operas and ballets. It is situated in a splendid building not far from Red Square. It is also famous because many historical events took place in this building. (слайд 6)

The Exhibition of Economic Achievements is situated far from the centre of the city. There you can see a lot of things made in Russia. (слайд 7)

Moscow is the city of students. There are over 80 higher educational institutions in it, including several universities. On Vorobyovy Hills is situated the largest university of Russia. It was named after Mikhail Lomonosov, the outstanding scientist of the 18th century. It is a very high building. From the top of the Moscow university you can have a splendid view on Moscow. Many students from different cities of Russia and from other countries study in this university.(слайд 8)

Many great people lived in Moscow such as Pushkin, Turgenev, Esenin, Lomonosov and others. In Tverskaya Street in Moscow you can see monuments to Yuri Dolgoruky, Alexander Pushkin, Vladimir Mayakovsky.(слайды 9, 10, 11, 12)

Here is the monument to the great poet of Russia – Alexander Pushkin.(слайд 13) He was born in Moscow. He wrote many poems. He was the creator of the modern Russian literary and poetic language. Fyodor Tyutchev wrote about Pushkin:

You'll live to be forgotten never!
Russian people have always loved their country, though life in Russia has never been easy. Russian people have always been devoted to their Motherland, fighting for peace and independence against enemies. We love our country and Moscow very much!
