Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний

Цель урока: обобщить и расширить представление учащихся о величайших  достопримечательностях  Лондона

Задачи:

развивающие:

-развивать устойчивый интерес к дальнейшему изучению английского языка на основе страноведческого материала;

-развивать умение учащихся применять знания в новых учебных ситуациях

воспитательные:

-формирование личностных качеств учащихся: уверенность при ответе, находчивость и любознательность, способность найти выход из трудных ситуаций

учебные:

-активизировать лексику по теме “Достопримечательности Лондона”;

-формировать навыки и умения иноязычной речевой деятельности

Madam Tussaud’ s Museum has a great collection of wax figures. The museum consists of several galleries where visitors can see wax figures of presidents, pop-stars, football players, film stars and other famous people.

The Tower of London is the oldest building in the city. It used to be a prison, a fortress, a palace, a treasury and a zoo. The oldest part of the Tower is the White Tower. Twelve black ravens live in the Tower.

Trafalgar Square is situated in the center of London. The square is famous for Nelson's Column. It was built to honour the Battle of Trafalgar and Admiral Nelson. The National Gallery is situated near the square.

Buckingham Palace is the London home of the Queen. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. There are 600 rooms in Buckingham Palace. It has an indoor swimming pool and a cinema.

Westminster Abbey is one of the most popular cathedrals. A lot of famous people buried there: the poet William Shakespeare, the scientist Charles Darwin and others. It was built in the 11^th century.
