УРОК АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА В 6 КЛАССЕ

ПО ТЕМЕ:

«Обычаи и традиции Великобритании. Королевская семья»

Цель урока: формирование навыков аудирования и поискового чтения.

Задачи урока:

образовательные (познавательные):

познакомить учащихся с Британской королевской семьей;

воспитательные:

воспитывать у учащихся уважительное отношение к культуре и истории страны изучаемого зыка;

развивающие:

развивать у учащихся умения полно и точно понимать содержание прочитанного, умения извлекать необходимую информацию из текста,умения перевода, умения работать в группе;

обучающие:учить детей работать с текстом с целью полного охвата содержания, работать со схемами-таблицами при повторении грамматических правил, осуществлять контроль понимания услышанного и прочитанного.

ПОЯСНИТЕЛЬНАЯ ЗАПИСКА

Данный урок разработан для проведения в 6 классе с базовым уровнем изучения английского языка по учебнику О.В. Афанасьевой, И.В. Михеевой «English VI», а также может быть использован в работе по другим учебникам со сходной темой, элективных курсах по страноведению и факультативах.

Данный урок предполагает использование универсальных средств ИКТ, поэтому на уроке необходимоаппаратное и программное обеспечение: персональный компьютер, экран и проектор.

Актуальностьиспользования средств ИКТ: повышение мотивации изучения иностранного языка, повышение познавательной активности учеников.

При подготовке урока использовались ресурсы сети Интернет.

The Steps of the Lesson

2. Grammar Rules.

Let’s start working with your Grammar Tables. (The teacher gives the table “Past Simple Active”.) First of all I’d like to pay attention to the use of the verb “did” in negative and interrogative sentences. You are to use different forms of the verbs, regular and irregular forms. When you fulfil the sentences use your big table of the irregular verbs. It is very important to know these rules because you will have to use them doing your tasks while auding and reading the texts.

3. Auding of the text “The Queen of the UK”.

We’ll start working with your words. Take the list and be ready to listen to me. I’ll read them twice. Some of them you have known before, the others are new. (The teacher reads the words and works out them.)

I’d like to show you some pictures of the Queen. (The teacher uses the notebook showing the pictures.)

Now be ready to listen to me. I’ll read the text twice and you’ll do the task.

The task is: you should finish the sentences about the Queen.

3. She was born in Windsor … (on the 21 of April 1926).

4. She married Prince Philip Greek ... (in 1947).

The pupils read the sentences one by one. At the end of the work the last pupil reads the whole story about the Queen.

4. Reading of the text “The Royal Family”.

Dear boys and girls! You have got a splendid opportunity to learn about the Family of the Queen. (The teacher shows the pictures of the Royal Family.) Your group will be divided into two small groups.

Group 1 – The Queenand The Queen’s Relatives..

Group 2 – The Children of the Queen.

Your tasks are: Find the information about your characters, answers the question.

If there is some free time the pupils can ask their own questions.

Queen Elizabeth II

Elizabeth II is the Queen of Great Britain. She was born in Windsor on the 21 of April 1926. Her full name is Elizabeth-Mary-Alexander Windsor.

Queen Elizabeth hasgot four children: Charles - the heir to the throne, Anne, Andrew and Edward.

Princess Elizabeth had a traditional royal childhood she did not attend school but was taught at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle by private tutors. Elizabeth developed an early interest in art and sports, especially horse riding, which she enjoys to this day.

The teenage years of Princess Elizabeth were during the Second World War. Like many London children, she spent most of the war in the countryside to escape the bombing at night. By the end of the war Elizabeth became a junior officer in the army, and knew the work of an army driver and a mechanic. In 1947she married Prince Philip Greek.

When Elizabeth was 25 years old her father King George VI died.In June 1953, in Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth was crowned and became Queen. The coronation was broadcast live and millions of people were watching the coronation on television.Queen Elizabeth II became the monarch.

The royal family now has to pay tax on the income and status. Buckingham Palace is open to the public and much of the worldnow knows details of their private lives.

The Royal Family

At present the British royal family is headed by Queen ElizabethII. When the Queen was born her grandfather, King George V, was on the throne and her uncle was his heir. The death of her grandfather and the abdication of her uncle brought her father to the throne as King George VI.

Among Queen Elizabeth's many duties are the regular visits she makes to foreign countries. The Queen has allowed the BBC to make a documentary film about the every day of the royal family.

The annual Christmas broadcast made by the Queen on radio and television has become traditional and popular.

The Queen's husband, Duke of Edinburgh, was born in 1926 and served in the Royal Navy. He is interested in industry, in the life of young people and in saving of wild animals.

The Queen's heir is Prince Charles (born in 1949)has two children, Prince William and Prince Harry.

The Queen's other children are Princess Anne (born in 1950), Prince Andrew (born in 1960) and Prince Edward (born in 1964). Anne, Princess Royal, in recent years is popular with the public.

The Queen is the president of the Save Children Fund, the Chancellor of the University of London and carries out many public engagements now.

Prince Andrew, Duke of York, served as a helicopter pilot in the Royal Navy. In 1986 he married Miss Sarah Ferguson and has two daughters.

Prince Edward is keen on the theatre. This interest began while he was at university. He was in the Royal Marines.

The Queen Mother celebrated her one hundred birthday in 2000 and died in 2002.

The Queen's only sister, Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, is well-known for her charity work.
