Ход урока:

Звучит магнитофонная запись песни М. Матусовского «С чего начинается Родина?»

Teacher: Good morning dear boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. Today you will show your knowledge about our Motherland.

When we say “Motherland” we remember our house, street, school. Motherland is a lot for a man. Every person has his own Motherland. It is the place, where a man was born. May be this place is usual and uninteresting for other people but for you it is the dearest place in the world. At the beginning of our lesson you listened to the song “What does Motherland begin with?” Let’s try to answer the questions:

  1. What does Motherland begin with?

  2. What does Motherland mean for a man?

  3. What do you think about it?

Pupil 1: I think Motherland is the place you were born in. It means the house or district in which one was born.

Pupil 2: Love of Motherland comes to people in different ways. For some people their Motherland begins in a city street. For other people it is their own village or a house in which they have grown up.

Pupil 3:It is the best place in the world.

Teacher: Well, we live in the most wonderful place in the world. And certainly we are proud of our town. And you have prepared the project. Let’s start.

Each man loves his native homeplace - the land where he was born, whose beauty he imbibed with his mother’s milk. Our native homeplace is Chistopol. Similar to the man, each land, settlement, district has its own historical tradition. The main pride of Chistopol is people. The people, who by their wisdom, knowledge, diligence produced spiritual and material wealth. Due to their fruitful activities and talent the great heritage had been accumulated which we are proud to hand down to our children and grandchildren. Welcome to the hospitable land of Chistopol.

My home town is lovely indeed with its big blocks, fine old-styled houses, beautiful streets and offices. There are plenty of old streets that remain old times. Perhaps, there is some harmony between old and modern in Chistopol. Its history goes back to the 18th century.

A small settlement of the peasants appeared on the bank of the Kama river. Those peasants run from their landowners and were engaged in agriculture, hunting and fishery. But soon those peasants were arrested and sent back to their former landowners. Instead of that settlement only bare field “Chistoye-Pole” was left. Because of the advantageous location, in 1781 Chistoye Pole became one of the main towns of Kazan Province.

Chistopol is situated on the left bank of the Kama river. Population is 61 thousand people. People from many nationalities live in our town: Russian, Tatars, Chuvash, Mordva and so on .

Chistopol is the birthplace of many outstanding people. It is interesting to note that our town is the homeland of a great Russian chemist A. M. Butlerov, a well-known pilot N. Kostin, an academician Likhachev, a composer Sofia Gubaidullina and a Tatar writer G. Iskhaki. And we are proud of them.

We are proud of that our town has rich cultural traditions. Among places of interest the most popular are: the museum of Pasternak, the museum of local lore, and the museum of a Tatar writer G. Iskhaki in Kutlushkino. People keep and protect the heritage of the past. Chistopol is the town where during the war lived and worked Pasternak, Aseev, Fadeev, Tvardovsky, Fedin, Leonov and many others.

Boris Leonidovich Pasternak (1890-1960), born in Moscow, was the son of talented artists: his father a painter and illustrator of Tolstoy's works, his mother a well-known concert pianist. Pasternak's education began in a German Gymnasium in Moscow and was continued at the University of Moscow. Under the influence of the composer Scriabin, Pasternak took up the study of musical composition for six years from 1904 to 1910. By 1912 he had renounced music as his calling in life and went to the University of Marburg, Germany, to study philosophy. After four months there and a trip to Italy, he returned to Russia and decided to dedicate himself to literature.
Since 1941 till 1943 Pasternak has lived in Chistopol in Volodarskaya street (now 81, Lenin St.). And in 1990 in this house the Pasternak museum was opened.

Among the sights The Nicolski Cathedral is in the style of classicism. Its architect is P. G. Pyatnitski.

In 1921 the student of local lore and naturalist Alexander Konstantinovich Bulich formed this museum. And he became the director of the museum. The museum has its own collections. There are a lot of materials on Archeology, Biology, the collection of eggs and nests, the rich collection of remains of ancient animals.

About 11 thousands of citizens of Chistopol were killed during the Great Patriotic War. Such names of the heroes of the Soviet Union as Marinin, Valeev, Kalashnikov, Chekin, Mironov, Sitdikov, Privalov, Gavrilov are well - known to any man of our town. We have the Alley of Heroes and the Eternal Fire in the centre of Chistopol.

Special attention in Chistopol is being paid to education of young generation. There are many schools, a music school, an artistic school, sport complex “Batir” and a big Ice Palace in our town. These are the favourite centers providing communication and education for children and teenagers.

We are proud of our poets such as Damira Ivanovna Maksimova, Michail Evgenievich Scorokhodov, Larisa Kulibina, Ludmila Loscutova, Marina Arkhangelskaya, Michail Shambadal, Nicolai Narseev, Ruslan Galimov, Flura Tarkhanova, Rifcat Gardiev and many others.

There are a lot of enterprises in Chistopol. The watch plant “Vostok” was formed in 1942. Our town has also ship-repairing plant, milk plant, elevator, furniture factory and many others. Today agriculture workers using advanced technologies, fertilizers and high-yielding varieties of grain crops achieve rather high results.

Each year, from time immemorial, after finishing of spring agricultural work people in Chistopol celebrate the merry Tatar national festival Sabantouy. People gather on the green lawn where they sing, play and join in sports competitions all day from dawn till dark. This Tatar national festival, Sabantouy, with its bright unforgettable impressions has become a traditional holiday for all people of Tatarstan.

Another festival is “Nauruz”. “Nauruz” means the “New Year day”. This festival takes place on the 21st of March. People choose the most beautiful girl. She is called “Nauruz-bikeh”. People sing songs and dance.

Maslenitsa is a traditional Russian holiday. Maslenitsa takes place at the end of winter. People fried a lot of pancakes - hot and round like the sun. They visited each other and celebrated this holiday together.

Teacher: Thank you very much. We have got a lot of information about our native homeplace. I think it was very interesting and useful for us. Please, write the words associating with the word “Motherland”. (Ученики выходят к доске и пишут такие слова, как house, street, school, village, district и т.д. Один кружочек остается свободным)

Teacher: You think about these little places as your Motherland, and only later you will see the whole country behind the word Motherland. In other words, our Motherland is our country Russia. (Учитель подходит к доске и пишет в кружочек слово country.) Love of your Motherland does not come to you of its own accord. You must love your country. You must know a lot about the history of your country. As you know, it is rich in beautiful songs, music, arts, monuments of the past. And how beautiful is the Russian language!

If you love the culture of your Motherland and are able to see the beauty of Russian landscape, you certainly love your country. If you enjoy the beauty of Russian architecture and know the Russian language perfectly, you love your country. You know what your Motherland begins with.

Well, our lesson is over. Thank you for the lesson!
