Образовательная задача: Совершенствовать коммуникативные способности учащихся, учить применять полученные знания в конкретной ситуации.
Развивающая задача: Развивать кругозор учащихся, стимулировать учащихся к самостоятельному поиску дополнительной информации по теме.
Воспитательная задача: Воспитывать уважение и интерес к культуре стран изучаемого языка.
Тип урока: Урок закрепления и совершенствования знаний.
Вид урока: Урок – виртуальная экскурсия.
Форма урока: Самостоятельная работа с элементами игры.
Формы работы: Индивидуальная, коллективная, в парах, письменная фронтальная.
Средства: Компьютер, проектор, экран, ресурсы сети Интернет, презентация в POWER POINT.

Today we’ll speak about one of the English-speaking countries. Look at the screen.

4. Чтение текста «Австралия».Before visiting a foreign country we should know some information about it. Read the text «Australia» and do exercises.
Australia is the smallest continent between the Indian and the Pacific Ocean. The continent is mostly a great plain with mountains in the east and south-east. The western part of the continent forms a plateau which occupies half of the continent. The Central Lowlands is very dry. Through the eastern part of these Central Lowlands run Australia’s greatest rivers, the Murray and the Darling. A number of short rivers flow from the Australian Alps and the Blue Mountains into the Pacific Ocean. Australia has several different climatic regions, from warm to subtropical and tropical. There are many wild animals in Australia. Some of them, such as the kangaroo, the dingo and the koala are not found in any other country of the world. Australia has been called the land of differences and the continent of contrasts. There are many strange animals in Australia. The strangest of all are the water-loving platypus and the echidna. Australia is also the home of the kangaroos. The koala is a tree-loving, comical-looking animal that lives in eucalyptus trees. The dingo is the only killer among the native animals. Most of them now live in mountains or hills. The native birds of Australia are very interesting. The emu for example, is tallest bird in the world after the ostrich. The capital of Australia is Canberra. There are 5 big cities in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. Sydney is the largest city, chief port and main cultural center. There are about 18 million people in Australia and among them only 40 000 aborigines. The Commonwealth of Australia consists of six states and two territories. - Who discovered Australia? - Captain James Cook discovered Australia in 1770. He was sent to discover the huge land that many people believed was south of the equator. He landed south of present day Sydney in New South Wales. He claimed this part of the land for the King of England. Слайд 5

.-What can you say about the climate?-Australia has several climatic regions from warm to subtropical and tropical. The winds from the sea bring heavy rainfalls, especially in tropical summer. The climate in the west is very dry and more than half of Australia gets very little rain. In the south and east the winds bring rain in winter.

They are kind and friendly people.-What can you tell about a tour on passenger ferry? Слайд 11- It’s great! You should take a ferry ride in Sydney. You’ll be impressed by national parks where wildlife is protected. There are unusual animals in Australia such as the kangaroo, the koala, the dingo. There are 50 species of kangaroo and 55 species of parrots! The emu is the most interesting bird in Australia, it is big and can’t fly. The kangaroo and emu can be seen on Australian coat of arms.- What were you impressed most of all?- I was impressed by Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. 1500 species of fish live there!
