Тема: Религии разных народов.
Цель урока:
-
Знакомство с различными религиями, их священными зданиями, текстами (книгами) символикой и т.д.

Развитие лексических навыков, совершенствование речевых навыков, развитие восприятия речи на слух.
-
Воспитание толерантного отношения к представителям различных религий, осознание реалий родной религии.
Тип урока: введение нового материала.
Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор, компьютер, учебник.
Ход урока.
I.Организационный момент.

Приветствие учащихся на английском языке.
– Good morning, class! How are you today? Are you ready for the lesson?
-
Беседа с дежурным.
– Who is on duty today?
– Who is absent today?
II. Актуализация знаний учащихся.
T: We know all people believe in one thing or another. Our beliefs very much depend on our character, background and experience. Last lesson we talked about different kind of beliefs: belief in the world progress, in the postulate “Beauty will save the world”, in life after death, in love at first sight, in ghosts and witches and so on. Let’s remember them. Who would like to talk about one of his/her beliefs? (прослушивание высказываний ребят).
T: Thank you very much for your answers.
III. Работа над новым материалом.
1) T: And now we will talk about another kind of belief. Look at the screen, please. What can you see on these pictures? (выслушивание мнений ребят).
2) T: And can you guess what are we going to talk about? Yes, you are right; we are going to talk about religions. And the theme of our lesson is “religions of different nations”. Tell me, please, what is the religion? (Religion is a belief in the existence of supernatural power, in God – the creator and the ruler of the Universe). Why do people all over the world profess some religion? (As for me, I think that one of the most important functions of any religion is to help people to explain the unknown. What is the origin of the world? What happens when we die? And etc.). Look at the screen, please. Religion is any specific
system of belief, often involving rituals, a code of ethics and philosophy of life.
3) T: And do you know what are the main religions of the world? Will you name them? (Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism).
4) T: Please, open your books on page 50 Ex. 2. Let’s do it.
5) T: Look at the next slide. I will ask to do the next task: match the country and the religion which is professed in this country.
6) T: Look at the next slide, please. You know that every religion has rules of dressing. Find representative of every religion.
7) Let’s have a rest (физкультминутка).
8) T: Let’s do the next task, please. Look at the next slide, please. Here you can see 10 statements. Put the number of the statement next to the name of religion
a) Christianity 4,10
b) Islam 3,7,8
c) Judaism 2,6,9
d) Buddhism 1,5
IV. Закрепление изученного.
T: Thank you very much for your work. Now I would like you to check yourself and answer the questions.

T: Ok, dear, pupils, let’s remember what we have learned today (выслушивние учащихся). And the conclusion of our lesson is: we are different and we profess different religions. That’s why we should be tolerant and respect all religions.
V. Домашнее задание:
T: Your homework will be is to write a short composition named “My religion”.
